PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Crazy Schildt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Finnigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schildt comes to the cage accompanied by Blackeyed pees - Boom boom pow. Finnigan comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Finnigan's wake kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tim Finnigan!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Finnigan throws the left hand but Schildt avoids the punch easily.
Schildt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Finnigan moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Finnigan fails in his attempt to clinch.
Schildt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Finnigan circles away.
Schildt misses with an uppercut. Finnigan saw that one coming.
Finnigan lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Schildt is breathing heavily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schildt chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Finnigan can pounce on him.

Schildt closes the distance and clinches up with Finnigan, looking for a takedown. Schildt pushes Finnigan against the cage but Finnigan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Schildt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Finnigan's waist but Finnigan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Schildt off to one side.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Finnigan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Finnigan misses with a hook. Schildt ducked under it nicely.

Finnigan has Schildt up against the cage in a clinch.

Schildt is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Schildt is trying to drag Finnigan to the mat but Finnigan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Finnigan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Finnigan is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Schildt is looking to stand up but Finnigan isn't so interested in that idea.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tim Finnigan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Schildt moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Finnigan wants to control but Schildt is keeping busy.
Schildt is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Finnigan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Finnigan holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Tim Finnigan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Schildt stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Finnigan.
Horrible takedown by Schildt or perhaps it was just good defense by Finnigan which made him look bad.
Schildt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Schildt sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Crazy Schildt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Finnigan lands a nice leg kick that just misses Schildt's sensitive parts.
Schildt is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Schildt takes a head kick and keeps coming.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tim Finnigan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Finnigan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
