The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Hetfield, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
James Hetfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hetfield throws a sloppy head kick and Jigoro moves out of range easily.

Jigoro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jigoro wants to control but Hetfield is keeping him busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hetfield sneaks out the side door and pushes Jigoro away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Jigoro shoots in but Hetfield avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Hetfield throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Jigoro tries for a takedown but Hetfield sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jigoro is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hetfield.

Jigoro is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hetfield is surviving well by controlling Jigoro's body position as best he can.
Jigoro seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Hetfield is holding on tight.
