Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyndon Russell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Shono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shono has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lyndon Russell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jason Shono!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shono throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Russell decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Russell closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Shono did well to prevent Russell getting side control.

Russell decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Shono, up you get!
Russell misses with a takedown attempt - Shono sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Russell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Russell manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shono is working an open guard so Russell takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Russell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Russell decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Russell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Russell showed some decent athleticism there.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Russell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
