The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Drogan as Brighton shoots in.

Drogan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Brighton is looking to control Drogan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brighton avoid being mounted?
Brighton tries to get to full guard but Drogan has control of the leg.
Drogan stops Brighton from getting back to his feet.

Drogan is pressing down on Brighton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Brighton is holding on for now.
Brighton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Drogan on the ground.

Drogan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Brighton flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Drogan scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Drogan wants to pass the guard but Brighton is defending well.
Brighton is looking to escape.

Drogan is looking for a kimura here.
Drogan wants to control but Brighton is keeping him busy.

Drogan wants to work for an arm triangle but Brighton is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Brighton wants to improve his position but Drogan is controlling well.
Brighton makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Brighton.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Drogan passes Brighton's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brighton is trying to get back to full guard.

Drogan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brighton defends it well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Brighton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Drogan's guard.

Drogan has his foot on Brighton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brighton works his way back into a safe position though.

Drogan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

A big head kick from Brighton and Drogan is sent sprawling to the canvas!

It looks like Cleve Drogan has been cut.

Brighton stands up and waves to Drogan to follow him.
Drogan is still on wobbly legs! Can Brighton finish him?

Brighton darts in and clinches Drogan up against the cage.

Brighton decides to pull guard.

Brighton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Drogan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Brighton is tightening it up a little... Drogan has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Drogan reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Drogan taps out! nice BJJ there by Brighton!
