Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blair Sykes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Monkey Business (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Blair Sykes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Monkey Business!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Business shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sykes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Business content to stall in guard here.
Sykes manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sykes manages to capitalize on a mistake by Business to take his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Business has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Sykes.

Business tries to roll but Sykes sticks to his back.

Sykes looking for the choke but no joy.
Sykes controlling well, preventing Business from escaping the position.
Business keeps trying to improve his position.
Business is still trying to improve position.

Business holding both Sykes 's hands and preventing any damage.
Business breaks Sykes's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Sykes has Business pulled in close to control his posture.
Business wants to pass the guard but Sykes is keeping the position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sykes doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Sykes scores with a short punch from the bottom.
Business wants to stand but Sykes is controlling his posture from full guard.
Sykes punching from the bottom - just letting Business know he's still in a fight.
Sykes tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Business engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Business must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Business throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sykes works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Business not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Monkey Business.
Sykes dives in and grabs Business's left leg, looking for a takedown. Business pushes down on Sykes's head and hops out.

Business shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sykes manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Business throws a strike but Sykes rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Monkey Business will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


No luck for Sykes with that takedown attempt.
Blair Sykes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Business.
Sykes could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Business moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Business creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Business decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sykes to his feet.

Business moves into range and clinches up with Sykes.
Business stalling in the clinch but Sykes improves position.

Business pulls guard effortlessly.
Sykes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Business closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sykes quickly recovers to half guard.
It looks like Business is going to stand back up.
Business really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sykes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Business is breathing heavily.

Sykes moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Business slips nicely into half guard.
Sykes on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Business trying to control from half guard but Sykes is working away.

Sykes missing with punches from the bottom.
Sykes won't allow Business to pass to mount.
Sykes is trying to control but can't.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Blair Sykes.

Business manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sykes on his heels. He'll look to pass Sykes's guard now, I'm sure.
Sykes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Sykes manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Business manages to get himself to full guard.
Business wants to sweep but no luck.
Business is looking to stand back up but Sykes counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Business.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sykes is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Monkey Business showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Sykes's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Business wants to get back to full guard.
Sykes is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Sykes seems to be looking for submissions.
Sykes is nestled in close to Business, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Business. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Sykes is thwarting Business's attempts to control the position.
Business is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Sykes is staying active.
Sykes thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Business's head.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Monkey Business wasn't active enough on the ground.

Business closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sykes did well to prevent Business getting side control.
Business takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Sykes tries to roll over but Business keeps him under control.
Monkey Business has got the better of the ground game so far.
Sykes is looking to control Business's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sykes avoid being mounted?
Business is trying to control. Sykes wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Monkey Business hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Business shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sykes's guard.
Business seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sykes shoots in but no luck this time.

Sykes gets caught napping as Business dives in and scores a takedown. Sykes manages to retain guard.
Sykes doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Business is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Sykes looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Monkey Business is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I would just about give that final round to Monkey Business.
Well Business has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
