Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damon Acevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Knoxx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Damon Acevedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Knoxx!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knoxx pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Knoxx tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Acevedo swivels and escapes.
Knoxx shoots in looking for a takedown but Acevedo manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Knoxx's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Knoxx shoots in looking for a takedown. Acevedo tries to sprawl out of it but Knoxx keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Acevedo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Damon Acevedo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Knoxx.

and Acevedo counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Acevedo.

Acevedo pulls guard successfully.
Acevedo seems keen to control Knoxx's posture.

Knoxx stands and steps away. Acevedo gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Acevedo creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Knoxx's defenses.
Acevedo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Knoxx must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Knoxx is looking to stand up but Acevedo won't let him.
Acevedo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Knoxx won't allow Acevedo to sweep him here.
Acevedo wants to stand and escape but Knoxx is having none of it.

Acevedo has his foot on Knoxx's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Knoxx works his way back into a safe position though.
Acevedo has control of Knoxx's left arm, preventing Knoxx from doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knoxx wants to stand but Acevedo has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Knoxx got a little sloppy there for a moment and Acevedo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Knoxx has managed to get both his arms back between Acevedo's legs - danger averted.

Knoxx wants to stand and escape but instead Acevedo has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Knoxx is wriggling around but Acevedo manages to pass to half guard.
Acevedo slips a nice elbow through Knoxx's hands, connecting with Knoxx's forehead.
Knoxx scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Acevedo manages to mount him!
Acevedo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Knoxx is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Knoxx looks winded!
Acevedo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Knoxx wants to get back to his feet.
Acevedo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Knoxx looks a forlorn figure.
Knoxx's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
BOOM! Acevedo connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Knoxx is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Acevedo in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Acevedo lands a couple of good shots and Knoxx has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Acevedo scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Acevedo is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Knoxx. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Can Knoxx hold on?! Acevedo is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Horrible takedown by Acevedo or perhaps it was just good defense by Knoxx which made him look bad.
Knoxx tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Knoxx shoots for a takedown but Acevedo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

and Acevedo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Knoxx won't be happy with that.
Knoxx is looking to get back to his feet here but Acevedo is keeping cool and he's managed to take Knoxx's back.

Knoxx covers up after that shot from Acevedo.
Acevedo lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Knoxx hold on?!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Acevedo is punishing Knoxx with some ground and pound.
Knoxx controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.

Acevedo lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Knoxx.
Knoxx looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Acevedo lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Acevedo.

Damon Acevedo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Acevedo has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Knoxx is defending well but eventually Acevedo manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Knoxx has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
