The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Velasquez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Johnson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Velasquez will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Johnson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Johnson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Velasquez down.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Johnson looks up at the clock and then as Velasquez takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Johnson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Velasquez is rocked!
A big shot lands for Johnson! That's hurt Velasquez! Will he recover? Johnson fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!
