The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

DeLaurier gets a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
DeLaurier is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Aberdeen is looking to improve his position.
Aberdeen on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Aberdeen trying to control but DeLaurier postures up.
We've been hearing that DeLaurier has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
DeLaurier looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Aberdeen is not content to let DeLaurier control the position.
Aberdeen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of DeLaurier's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take DeLaurier's back!

DeLaurier breaks Aberdeen's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

DeLaurier works over Aberdeen with some ground and pound from guard.

DeLaurier lands a couple of elbows.

Aberdeen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
DeLaurier wants to control from the top but Aberdeen keeps moving.
Our spies down at at The Barracks - LOD inform us that Aberdeen has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

DeLaurier wants to control from the top but Aberdeen keeps moving.

Aberdeen is rocked!
DeLaurier makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Aberdeen is still in real trouble! Can DeLaurier finish him?
DeLaurier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aberdeen on the ground.
DeLaurier gets to his feet and stands over Aberdeen, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Aberdeen felt that one! DeLaurier unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Aberdeen from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Leon DeLaurier!

An out of breath Leon DeLaurier thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
