Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gideon Gabriel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jet Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li has chosen Tourniquet by Evanescence as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gabriel tries to clinch but Li moves out of range.
Some bone on bone action there as Li checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Gabriel looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Li throws a quick inside leg kick.
Gabriel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Li circles away.
Li tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gabriel paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Li throws a leg kick which misses Gabriel's front leg but catches the back leg as Gabriel tries to avoid it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gabriel accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Gabriel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Li manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gabriel manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Li has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Gabriel seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Li can turn it around.

Li swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Gabriel turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Gabriel manages to end up in side control.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gabriel, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
