Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Stanfield misses with a jab, cross combination.
Stanfield tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Connor counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Stanfield uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Connor.
Connor lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Connor has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Bruize Brothers in the buildup to the fight.
Stanfield looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Aaron Stanfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Connor fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Stanfield looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A punch lands to the side of Connor 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Connor throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Stanfield stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Connor throws a head kick that Stanfield semi-blocks.

It looks like Aaron Stanfield has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Connor thows a body shot but no joy.

Stanfield moves into the clinch successfully.

Connor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Connor moves out of range as Stanfield throws a body kick.
Connor misses with a kick to the body.

Connor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Stanfield shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Connor eats them both and turns towards Stanfield to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Connor throws a head kick that misses.
Matthew Connor is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Stanfield closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Stanfield.

Connor breaks from the clinch.

Stanfield misses with a two punch combination.
Stanfield shoots in looking for a takedown. Connor tries to sprawl out of it but Stanfield keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Connor manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stanfield tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Connor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Stanfield misses with a jab, cross combination.
Connor changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Connor slips a straight right by Stanfield.
Stanfield looks to land a left hand but Connor moved out of range nicely.
Stanfield with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Connor to score with a decent uppercut.

and Stanfield counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Stanfield will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Stanfield shoots for a takedown but Connor saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Connor throws a hook but Stanfield avoids it easily.

Connor throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Stanfield crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Matthew Connor decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
