Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damian Acevedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Flash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freddy Flash will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damian Acevedo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Freddy Flash!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Flash.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Acevedo wants to control but Flash postures up.
Acevedo is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Flash is keen to just control but Acevedo is a slippery customer.
Acevedo is trying to stand back up but Flash is controlling him

Acevedo might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Flash prevents Acevedo from standing back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Freddy Flash was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Flash tries to clinch there but Acevedo circles away.

Flash lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Flash shoots in and bounces Acevedo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Flash drops back looking for a leg! Acevedo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Acevedo manages to kick Flash off! Flash jumps back into Acevedo's guard.

Flash swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Acevedo gets through Flash's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Acevedo could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Acevedo pulls guard effortlessly.
Flash is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Acevedo looking for a sweep. Not yet Acevedo, not yet.

Acevedo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Acevedo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Acevedo wants to sweep here but Flash controlling him for the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Acevedo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Flash defends well.

Flash gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Flash's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Flash duly obliges.
Flash throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Flash decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Flash throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Acevedo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Flash feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Flash decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Acevedo, up you get!

Flash wants to take a breather but Acevedo is having none of it.

Flash decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Flash shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Flash was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Flash throws an elbow but Acevedo slips to the side and avoids it well.
Acevedo can't do much from the bottom here.
Acevedo is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Flash has just dragged him back down to the mat.

You can see the frustration on Acevedo's face as Flash controls the position.

Acevedo tries to bench press Flash off him but Flash keeps the position.
Flash remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The strikes coming from Flash are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
