Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paul George (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Popular-Nada Surf. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul George!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Diego Rios!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rios rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but George moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
George dodges the punch combination from Rios.
A combination from Rios does no damage.
Rios swinging wildly here.
Rios throws a quick head kick that skims the top of George's head.
Rios misses the shot to the body.
George avoids a punch combination nicely.
Diego Rios seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rios wants to clinch.

George drives through with a takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
George cracks Rios with a solid left hand.
George is looking to work some ground and pound but Rios has wrist control.
George throws a big elbow that misses.
Rios really doesn't want to stay on the ground with George. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
George with a flurry of punches that miss.
George throws a big right hand that misses.
George in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
George trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
George has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
George working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

George drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rios manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now George has Rios in his guard.
Rios wanted to stand there but George had control of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

George is looking to cinch up a triangle. Rios throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to George's body to avoid the submission. George has instead reached around Rios's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! George arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Paul George!
In his post fight interview, Paul George gave a big smile as he said 'You people may not know my name, but you better get used to hearing it. I will beast any 155 pounder in Barbarian. Pepe, White, Silva, Granger, Roro, Sierra there is a new dog on the block. Brace yourselves'.
