Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Broderick Gregory (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Broderick Gregory!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tyler James!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

James moves into the clinch successfully.

James breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gregory has managed to clinch.

James gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Gregory regains guard.
James keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gregory's head.
Gregory is pulling down on James's head to control his posture.
James controlling from the top position.

Gregory is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and James defends well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gregory keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.

James got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gregory has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, James has managed to get both his arms back between Gregory's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gregory has control of James's left arm, preventing James from doing any damage.
Gregory is trying to keep James in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
James controls from within his opponent's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tyler James was stalling too much, according to the referee.

James closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

James breaks the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by James.
Gregory is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
James throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Gregory works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

James controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gregory keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tyler James hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Gregory tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but James paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Gregory tries to sprawl but James drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Gregory might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gregory kicks James off and gets back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James takes the fight into the clinch.

James gets control of Gregory's arms and successfully pulls guard. James will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tyler James dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



James changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gregory looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
James creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Gregory sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
James tries to stand but Gregory controls the position and pulls James into his guard.

Gregory controls James momentarily but James frees himself.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Broderick Gregory wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Gregory misses with a head kick.
Gregory throws a hook but James avoids it easily.
Gregory throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
James lands a head kick!


It looks like Broderick Gregory has been cut.

James closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.


Gregory is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ground and pound from James.
Oh Gregory is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

James gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

James shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Gregory is on queer street and James is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Slam). Tyler James!
