Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eduardo Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jose Aldo!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aldo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Aldo misses with a knee to the head.
Aldo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Aldo ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Aldo no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanchez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Sanchez is looking to work some ground and pound but Aldo has wrist control.

Sanchez drops back looking for a leg! Aldo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Aldo manages to kick Sanchez off! Sanchez jumps back into Aldo's guard.

Sanchez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

We're going to have a standup here because Eduardo Sanchez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sanchez shoots in but Aldo avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Aldo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Aldo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sanchez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Aldo has managed to get both his arms back between Sanchez's legs - danger averted.

Sanchez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Aldo's guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Sanchez wants to control from the top but Aldo keeps moving.
Sanchez chips away with some ground and pound.

Aldo is striking from the bottom but Sanchez uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Sanchez moves into full mount! Aldo won't be happy about that!

Aldo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sanchez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Sanchez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Aldo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sanchez, into his guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sanchez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
