Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leonard Washington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocco Stupka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Washington comes into the arena with The Last Ride of Leonard Washington blaring out of the sound system. Stupka has chosen Red Army March as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington lands with a good body shot.
Stupka has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Stupka looks to land a combination but Washington avoids it well.
Washington just misses with a punch to the body.
Stupka misses with a right hand
and Washington counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Stupka wants to get back to full guard but Washington has passed into side control.
Washington misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Washington throwing strikes but Stupka manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Washington is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stupka connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Washington some visible discomfort.

Stupka throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Washington wants to improve his position but Stupka is controlling well.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Washington looks for a takedown but Stupka sprawls well.
Washington throws a series of punches but Stupka avoids them all with ease.

Washington misses with an uppercut. Stupka saw that one coming.
Stupka stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Washington looks to land a body kick but Stupka moved away.
Washington connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Stupka momentarily.
It looks like Rocco Stupka has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Washington ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stupka moves away.
Washington lands with a straight right. Stupka didn't see that one coming.
Washington pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Washington fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Washington misses with a straight left.
Stupka on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Washington. Washington obviously looking to wear him down.

Stupka ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Washington moves away.
Stupka lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Stupka misses with an uppercut
and Washington counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Washington wants to pass the guard but Stupka is keeping the position.
Stupka is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Washington has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Stupka is working away from the top position though.
Stupka scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Washington wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Leonard Washington will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Rocco Stupka's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Stupka cracks Washington with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Nice sprawl there from Stupka as Washington shoots in.
Nice uppercut lands for Stupka. That snapped Washington's head back.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stupka moves away from the strike by Washington.
Stupka lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Stupka moves out of range as Washington throws a body kick.
Stupka misses with a low kick.
Washington tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Stupka is able to avoid easily.
Washington slips a jab from Stupka.
Washington gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Stupka counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Washington displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stupka throws out the jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from Stupka.
Stupka listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Washington slips a straight right by Stupka.

Washington takes a jab right on the kisser.

After the fight, Rocco Stupka was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
