Mahone has chosen Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mahone is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Filter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Mahone is landing with some decent strikes but Filter is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Filter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mahone on the ground.

Mahone is working for a guillotine from mount but Filter frees his head quite easily.

Mahone is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Filter can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Jake Mahone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Mahone fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Filter manages to avoid it.

Filter wants to clinch up but Mahone keeps it at a distance.
Mahone darts in looking for a takedown but Filter gets double underhooks and turns Mahone into the cage.

Mahone is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Filter chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mahone can pounce on him.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Filter tries to clinch but Mahone is having none of it.

Filter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mahone.
Mahone ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Filter moves away.

Mahone cracks a nice hook into Filter's ribs.

and Mahone counters with a body kick that stops Filter in his tracks momentarily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Filter stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mahone.
Filter misses with a wild body shot.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Filter crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mahone - the referee stops the clock and Filter gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mahone. Filter manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Mahone throws a leg kick which misses Filter's front leg but catches the back leg as Filter tries to avoid it.
Mahone shoots in looking for a takedown. Filter tries to sprawl out of it but Mahone keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Filter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
