Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holman fails to land the takedown.
Souza moves into the clinch successfully.
Souza pulls guard.
Souza is looking to stand up but Holman isn't so interested in that idea.

Souza is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Souza controls Holman momentarily but Holman frees himself.

Souza is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Holman is controlling him.
Souza is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Holman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Holman makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Holman.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Holman tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Holman is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Souza dives into side control.
Souza stands up and beckons Holman to his feet.
Holman throws a right hand that Souza ducks under and follows up with a left that Souza also avoids with ease.

Holman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Souza circles away quickly and effectively.
Souza slaps away a takedown attempt from Holman, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Souza shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Holman but Holman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Souza tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Holman swivels and escapes.

Souza rushes Holman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Souza escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Souza throws a leg kick which misses Holman's front leg but catches the back leg as Holman tries to avoid it.

Souza tries to land knees in the clinch but Holman avoids the damage to the body.
Souza makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Holman throws a nice looking combination but Souza bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Holman leaves Souza with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Souza darts in looking for a takedown but Holman gets double underhooks and turns Souza into the cage.

Souza has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Holman uses from the top position.

Souza isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Holman stacks Souza on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Holman!

Holman is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Souza knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

and Holman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Holman throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Souza stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Sloppy strikes from Holman. Those never looked like landing.
Good leg kick by Holman there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Souza shoots in but no luck this time.

Holman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Souza sprawls well. Souza wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Holman gets slowly back to his feet.
Holman drives through and clinches with Souza against the cage.
Souza changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Holman fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Holman misses with an uppercut.
Souza goes for a double leg but Holman avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Holman continues to drive forward.
Holman looking to throw knees to the head but Souza is blocking nicely.

Souza is trying to break free.
Holman ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Holman no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Holman looking for a sweep. Not yet Holman, not yet.

Souza won't allow Holman to sweep him here.
Souza tries to free his leg and advance position but Holman is retaining full guard.
Holman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
