PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Rosenzweig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and WIlliam Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rosenzweig comes to the cage accompanied by Stamina. Bob is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I got my game on. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Solomon Rosenzweig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, WIlliam Bob!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Bob.
Rosenzweig changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bob tries to avoid it but Rosenzweig manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bob to the ground. Bob escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rosenzweig tries to clinch but Bob moves out of range.
Rosenzweig wants to clinch up but Bob keeps it at a distance.

Bob gets tackled into the cage by Rosenzweig. Rosenzweig maintains the clinch.
Rosenzweig has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bob is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Rosenzweig scores with a nice hook to the head.
Bob gets underhooks to prevent Rosenzweig's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Solomon Rosenzweig. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bob tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Bob is looking to control Rosenzweig's arms but Rosenzweig gets an underhook and turns him. Now Bob has his back to the cage.
Rosenzweig has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bob avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
I was talking to Rosenzweig's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Bob gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Rosenzweig.

Rosenzweig turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rosenzweig manages to end up in side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Bob is trying to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bob is squirming around, avoiding Rosenzweig's attempts to control the action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rosenzweig wants to control the pace but Bob is squirming around nicely.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bob is trying to break free.

Rosenzweig is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Bob knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Bob for a finish.
Rosenzweig has Bob flattened out and is raining down punches.
Bob is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Rosenzweig off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Rosenzweig is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Rosenzweig gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Rosenzweig gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Rosenzweig apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Rosenzweig changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bob looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bob is looking to regain half guard here but Rosenzweig keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rosenzweig works to advance to full mount. Bob defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Bob is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Rosenzweig has taken his back.

Rosenzweig is looking for the choke from the back position but Bob is controlling his hands well.

Bob breaks Rosenzweig's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Rosenzweig is adopting a defensive guard.

Rosenzweig not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rosenzweig shoots in looking for a takedown but Bob manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rosenzweig's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rosenzweig tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bob paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bob swats away the attempt to clinch by Rosenzweig.
Bob fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Bob throws a lazy body kick
and Rosenzweig counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Solomon Rosenzweig dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Rosenzweig has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Rosenzweig is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bob is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Solomon Rosenzweig overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

This has been an exciting period of action!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bob can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bob stops Rosenzweig from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Rosenzweig's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Solomon Rosenzweig!
In defeat, WIlliam Bob stepped up to the mic, saying 'Me and Lane have faught before and I came out on top, This time I just didn't have it in me. Thanks for the fight Lane your the best.'.
