Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Barr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aamu Hannu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikey Barr could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Aamu Hannu's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikey Barr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aamu Hannu!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hannu throws a series of strikes that have Barr backpedaling.
Barr avoids a punch combination nicely.
Barr wants to clinch.
Barr fails in his attempt to clinch.
Hannu takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


It looks like Aamu Hannu has been cut.
Barr changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hannu tries to avoid it but Barr manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hannu to the ground. Hannu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Barr takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Hannu misses with a wild combination.
Barr moves in looking to clinch but Hannu pushes him off.
Aamu Hannu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Barr misses with a jab, cross combination.

Hannu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barr is trying to get back to half guard.
Barr wants to control but Hannu postures up.
Barr managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hannu.

Barr tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hannu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Barr shoots in but no luck this time.

Barr decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Barr is breathing heavily.
Hannu is trying to get back to full guard.

Hannu tries to roll over but Barr keeps him under control.
Hannu is controlling Barr's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Hannu should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Barr is keen to just control but Hannu is a slippery customer.

Barr seems to be working for a kimura but Hannu defends the submission attempt.
Hannu wants to control but Barr is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Hannu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Barr blocks the strikes from Hannu.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hannu throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Barr counters with a flying knee. Nice.
A jab lands there for Hannu.

Hannu darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hannu slows the pace down in half guard.

Barr won't allow Hannu to pass to mount.
Hannu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Hannu wants to take a breather but Barr is having none of it.
Hannu not doing much here.
Hannu's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Hannu is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Aamu Hannu just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hannu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hannu content to stall in guard here.
Hannu trying to control the position from guard on top but Barr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aamu Hannu dominated that round.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Hannu lands with a straight right. Barr didn't see that one coming.

Hannu drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hannu is chipping away with strikes.
Barr wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Barr tries to improve position but can't.

Barr managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hannu.
Hannu content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Hannu misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Hannu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Barr has escaped the position, nice work there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hannu gets the takedown into side control.
Hannu working the ground and pound but Barr is defending the strikes.
Barr is being controlled here.
Hannu trying to control the action but Barr is working from the bottom.
Barr tries to bench press Hannu off him but Hannu keeps the position.

Hannu tries for a kimura but Barr is defending well.

Hannu wants to control but Barr is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hannu goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Horrible takedown by Barr or perhaps it was just good defense by Hannu which made him look bad.

Hannu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Aamu Hannu has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hannu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Barr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Barr is pushing Hannu's head away, looking to escape. Hannu manages to hold on to the position though.

Hannu has hold of Barr's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Barr tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hannu cranks the arm and Barr screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Barr, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Aamu Hannu!
