Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Millard Weeks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pepo Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weeks looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Tyson checks the leg kick.

Tyson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Tyson decides to stand back up. Tyson steps back and let's Weeks get back to his feet.
Tyson moves out of range as Weeks throws a body kick.

Tyson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Weeks on his heels. He'll look to pass Weeks's guard now, I'm sure.

Weeks keeping full guard, as Tyson tries to pass.

Weeks has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Tyson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Weeks lands a front kick.
Millard Weeks is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A head kick by Tyson misses

and Weeks counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Weeks has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Tyson wants to sweep here but Weeks controlling him for the moment.
Tyson pulls Weeks in to control the position.
Weeks trying to control but Tyson is working from the bottom.
Tyson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Pepo Tyson.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Weeks is trying to improve his position.
Tyson trying to control the action but Weeks is working from the bottom.

Weeks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tyson decides to stand and escape the position.
Weeks lands a nice shot to the body.

Tyson closes the distance and pushes Weeks back into the cage.
Weeks trying to control the position but instead, Tyson has worked for underhooks and has pushed Weeks into the cage.

Tyson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Weeks backwards.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Tyson manages to pull guard.
Tyson wants to improve his position but instead Weeks has moved into half guard.
Tyson wants to improve his position but Weeks is controlling well.
Tyson looks winded!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Tyson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Weeks to the mat! Weeks manages to get full guard.
Tyson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Weeks is proving hard to escape from.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tyson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Tyson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Weeks did well to prevent Tyson getting side control.

Tyson is trying to work for a kimura but Weeks is defending well.
Tyson is breathing heavily.

Tyson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Weeks blocks a head kick by Tyson.
Weeks tries to clinch but Tyson moves out of range.
Weeks scores with a push kick.

Tyson moves into range and clinches up with Weeks.
Tyson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Weeks misses with a body punch.
Weeks on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Weeks is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Tyson has picked Weeks up - he's going for a ride! Tyson dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Pepo Tyson has got the better of the ground game so far.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tyson is thwarting Weeks's attempts to control the position.
Weeks is staying active underneath Tyson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Weeks gets full guard.
Tyson wants to control from the top but Weeks keeps moving.

Weeks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Pepo Tyson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Weeks tries to land a front kick but Tyson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Tyson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tyson lands with a nice body kick.
Tyson moves out of range of the body kick.
Weeks ducks right into an uppercut from Tyson.

A head kick misses from Weeks.
Weeks throws a leg kick but Tyson moved away.

Tyson gets the takedown into side control.
Weeks is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Tyson asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Weeks tries to buck Tyson off but Tyson is having none of it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tyson in side control, throwing shots but Weeks defends.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pepo Tyson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Tyson throws a head kick but Weeks moves out of range.

Tyson gets a clinch.
Weeks is trying to stall.
Weeks displaying some good clinch control by pressing Tyson up against the cage.

Tyson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Tyson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Tyson is looking to stand up but Weeks isn't so interested in that idea.
Tyson controls Weeks momentarily but Weeks frees himself.
Tyson wants to sweep here but Weeks controlling him for the moment.

Tyson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Weeks!

Tyson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Weeks is on top in guard.
Tyson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Weeks not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tyson is on top in guard.

Weeks looking for a guillotine here but Tyson defends easily.

Tyson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Weeks, up you get!

Tyson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Weeks holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Tyson avoiding damage as Weeks throws knees to the body.
Tyson stalling against the cage.

Tyson is trying to trip Weeks. He has hold of a leg but Weeks is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Tyson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Tyson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Weeks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tyson has managed to get both his arms back between Weeks's legs - danger averted.
Tyson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Weeks is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tyson wants to pass the guard but Weeks is keeping the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Pepo Tyson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Weeks gets tackled into the cage by Tyson. Tyson maintains the clinch.
Millard Weeks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pepo Tyson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Tyson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
