The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueria ducks right into an uppercut from Nelson.

Nelson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nogueria moves away.
Nelson throws a right hand that Nogueria ducks under and follows up with a left that Nogueria also avoids with ease.
Nelson swats away the attempt to clinch by Nogueria.

Nogueria closes the distance and clinches.
Nogueria keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Nelson's efforts to push away.

Nogueria jumps guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nogueria has momentary wrist control but Nelson slips an elbow through the middle.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nelson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Nogueria regains guard immediately.

Nelson drops Nogueria with a beautiful combination! Nogueria stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Nelson is looking for the KO!

Nogueria is rocked!
Nelson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Oh Nogueria is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nelson is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Nogueria flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Nogueria is out cold! Nelson holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
