Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Teppo Tuppurainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Teppo Tuppurainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mick Wong!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Tuppurainen.
Wong throws a head kick that Tuppurainen semi-blocks.


It looks like Teppo Tuppurainen has been cut.
Wong lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Tuppurainen shoots in for a takedown but Wong shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Tuppurainen rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wong makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tuppurainen.
Tuppurainen misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tuppurainen fails with the takedown.

Mick Wong has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Tuppurainen looks for a takedown but Wong sprawls well.
A right-left combo lands from Wong.
Tuppurainen throws a wild body kick that Wong sees coming a mile off.

Wong drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Tuppurainen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tuppurainen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wong defends well.

Wong slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Wong misses with the ground and pound.
Tuppurainen can't do much from the bottom here.

Tuppurainen wants to control but Wong postures up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Wong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tuppurainen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tuppurainen wants to control the position but Wong says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Wong thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tuppurainen gets back to full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mick Wong dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Wong shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tuppurainen manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mick Wong wasn't active enough on the ground.

Wong shoots in and bounces Tuppurainen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wong wants to control from the top but Tuppurainen keeps moving.

Wong avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Tuppurainen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Tuppurainen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Tuppurainen is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wong doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tuppurainen.

Wong manages to escape and get back to his feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Wong darts in and clinches Tuppurainen up against the cage.
Tuppurainen tries to pull guard but Wong won't allow it.

Wong gets control of Tuppurainen's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wong will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Wong is trying to push Tuppurainen off with his feet but Tuppurainen grabs hold of one of the legs and drops back looking for a submission! He's cranking on one of Wong's ankles and Wong is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Ankle Lock). Teppo Tuppurainen!
