Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mahlito Jenzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Giancana (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mahlito Jenzi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sam Giancana!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenzi walks into a jab.
Giancana lands the left hand.
Giancana scores with a jab to the body.

Jenzi throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Giancana was covering up waiting for the punch and Jenzi finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Giancana has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jenzi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jenzi drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Giancana manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jenzi has Giancana in his guard.

Jenzi looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Giancana passes into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jenzi is looking to control Giancana's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Jenzi avoid being mounted?

Jenzi trying to get back to full guard but Giancana takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Giancana avoids the attempt from Jenzi to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jenzi is looking to improve his position but Giancana isn't that keen on the idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Giancana get's back to his feet.
Sam Giancana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Giancana's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Giancana duly obliges.
Jenzi throws a head kick that misses.
Giancana lands an overhand right.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jenzi moves in looking to clinch but Giancana pushes him off.
Jenzi misses with a takedown attempt - Giancana sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Giancana scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Jenzi tries for a takedown but Giancana sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Giancana fails to land with a series of punches.
Jenzi throws a nice looking combination but Giancana bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jenzi shoots in for a double leg but Giancana sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mahlito Jenzi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jenzi misses with a takedown
enabling Giancana to counter with a crisp jab.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Giancana lands a big right hand that sends Jenzi crashing to the mat! Giancana stays standing though and waves Jenzi back to his feet!


Jenzi is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A head kick misses from Jenzi.
Oh Jenzi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Giancana connects with a combination that backs up Jenzi into the cage. Giancana lands a flurry of punches that gets past Jenzi's guard. Jenzi is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Giancana bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sam Giancana!
A victorious Sam Giancana thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
Mahlito Jenzi spoke after the fight, saying ' I think the fight would go very differently next time around'.
