Kirbs's entrance music is Steve Miller Band - The Joker. A fine choice. Long has chosen Onra - I Wanna Go Back as his entrance music. Trent Quo Titan Kirbs has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Trent Quo Titan Kirbs!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, How Long!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirbs lands a glancing blow to the side of Long's head.
Kirbs throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Long uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kirbs.
Kirbs swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kirbs cracks a nice hook into Long's ribs.
Kirbs tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Long was well out of range. Poor timing from Kirbs.

Long wants the takedown. Kirbs is fighting it off but Long persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kirbs's guard against the cage.

Long fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kirbs has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Kirbs tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Long is able to avoid easily.
Trent Quo Titan Kirbs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Long throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Kirbs stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Kirbs has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Long.

How Long showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

I was talking to Kirbs's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
