PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Langston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaius Julius Caesar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Langston kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Al Kapone - You Ain't Stoppin Me. Caesar has chosen Warriors of the World as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Langston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gaius Julius Caesar !
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Langston misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Caesar counters with a nice double leg into side control. Langston won't be happy with that.
Caesar lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Langston down.


It looks like Bobby Langston has been cut.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Caesar throws an elbow but Langston slips to the side and avoids it well.
Langston can't do much from the bottom here.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Caesar tries to score with some ground and pound. Langston controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Caesar creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Langston sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Caesar throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Langston works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Caesar seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Langston does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Caesar not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Caesar working over Langston with some ground and pound. Langston looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Caesar working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.


Bobby Langston's cut is getting worse.
Caesar throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Langston to regain full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Caesar accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Langston avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Caesar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Caesar throwing strikes but missing.

Caesar in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Caesar works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Caesar lands strikes from half guard.
Caesar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Langston controlling the position well.
Caesar missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Caesar thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Caesar throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Langston keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Caesar not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Langston avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Caesar .
Caesar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Langston is looking to improve his position.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bobby Langston's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Our winner, Gaius Julius Caesar , made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
