Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gyeong has managed to clinch.
Smith trying to control the position but instead, Gyeong has worked for underhooks and has pushed Smith into the cage.
Smith tries to pull guard but Gyeong holds him up against the cage and eventually Smith drops back down to his feet.

Our spies down at at Warrior MMA and Fitness inform us that Gyeong has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Smith accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Smith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gyeong is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smith, into his guard.
Gyeong tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard.

Smith is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gyeong has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gyeong throws Smith to one side and escapes!

Gyeong closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gyeong lands in his opponent's guard.
Gyeong is looking to stand up but Smith won't let him.
Smith is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gyeong is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Let's hope that Gyeong has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Smith looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gyeong is one step ahead there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jun Gyeong has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Gyeong scores with the left hand. Smith knows he should have avoided that one.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Smith tries to roll over but Gyeong keeps him under control.
It looks like Gyeong is going to stand back up.
Gyeong wants to lay and pray for a moment but Smith keeps working.
Gyeong is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gyeong not doing much here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jun Gyeong wasn't active enough on the ground.
Gyeong connects with a leg kick. Smith looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Gyeong fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Smith, pushing him back against the cage.
Gyeong lands a left hand that snaps the head of Smith backwards.
Smith wants to take the fight to the mat but Gyeong manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Gyeong stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Gyeong breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Gyeong darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gyeong presses Smith against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Gyeong drags the fight down to the ground.
Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Gyeong is retaining full guard.

Smith slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Gyeong sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Smith is looking for a kimura but Gyeong is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gyeong pushes a forearm under Smith's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Smith is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
