Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Royler Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregg Buckley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Royler Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gregg Buckley!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie throws a leg kick but Buckley moved away.
Gracie fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Gracie throws a head kick that misses.

Gracie is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Buckley's half guard.
Buckley is looking to control Gracie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Buckley avoid being mounted?
Buckley slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Gracie trying to control but Buckley is working from the bottom.
Gracie will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Buckley can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gracie decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Buckley, up you get!
Gracie shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Buckley sprawls well. Buckley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.

Gracie tries to keep at a distance but Buckley has taken the fight into the clinch.
Gracie has been working on his balance at Lethal Tech Academy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Buckley.

Gracie is fighting to break Buckley's control of his arms but Buckley is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Gracie misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Buckley tries to bench press Gracie off him but Gracie keeps the position.

Gracie wants to lay and pray for a moment but Buckley keeps working.
The ground and pound from Gracie seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Gracie tries to advance to mount but can't.
Gracie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Buckley is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Buckley looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gracie is fending him off so far but Buckley persists. Nope, Gracie circles away and we're back to standing.

Buckley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gracie swivels and escapes.
Gracie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Buckley tries to avoid it but Gracie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Buckley to the ground. Buckley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Buckley stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Buckley wants it to stay on the feet.
Gracie looks to land a combination but Buckley avoids it well.

Gracie wants to get back to full guard.

Buckley performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Gracie trying to control but Buckley postures up.
Gracie is looking to improve his position.
Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.
Buckley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gracie wriggles free and stands up.

Buckley leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Buckley counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Gracie!

Buckley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Buckley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gracie wants to control but Buckley postures up.

Gracie manages to get back to half guard.
Gracie is trying to maintain the position but Buckley is very close to passing his half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gracie moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Royler Gracie will probably get the nod.
That's time! Gracie's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Gracie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Buckley defends well and Gracie ends up having to push Buckley into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Gracie manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Gracie moves into full guard.
Gracie looking for a sweep. Not yet Gracie, not yet.

Buckley postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Gracie throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Buckley wants to stand and escape but instead Gracie has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Gracie pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Buckley is keeping the position for now.
Gracie wants to stand but Buckley is controlling his posture from full guard.

Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Buckley swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gracie sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Buckley's guard.
Buckley is refusing to be controlled, as Gracie sits in half guard.
Gracie is controlling the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Gracie is working for a kimura but Buckley is defending it quite comfortably.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Gracie is trying to control. Buckley wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
Royler Gracie showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
