Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Teddy Walls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Carvery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teddy Walls!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Carvery!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carvery fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Walls is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Carvery looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Walls!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Walls is trying to get back to half guard.

Carvery wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Walls, who protects the arm well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carvery decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Carvery looking to score a takedown here. Walls is defending well but Carvery drives through and ends up in Walls's guard.

Carvery gets to his feet. Walls looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Walls really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Walls tries to clinch but Carvery moves out of range.

Carvery drives through with a takedown into Walls's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Carvery slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Carvery decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Walls, up you get!

Carvery forces Walls back against the cage and clinches.
Walls has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Carvery after a bit of a struggle.
Carvery is pushing Walls up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carvery lands a nice shot to the body.
Carvery's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Walls is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Carvery is defending well for now.

Walls tries to break the clinch but Carvery is controlling the position.
Walls fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Carvery decides to pull guard.

Walls has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Walls tries to stand but Carvery is controlling from the bottom.

Carvery has his hands on Walls's head, controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Carvery rushes Walls and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Carvery successfully pulls guard.
Walls knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carvery on the ground.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Walls being controlled here momentarily.
Carvery will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Carvery dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Carvery moves into range and clinches up with Walls.
Carvery scores with a nice hook to the head.
Carvery is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Carvery jumps into guard, dragging Walls to the mat.
Carvery looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Daniel Carvery hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Carvery feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Walls working for submissions but it's allowed Carvery to get to half guard.
Walls looks like he's trying to stand up.

Carvery is thwarting Walls's attempts to control the position.
Walls tries to get to full guard but Carvery has control of the leg.
Carvery seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Daniel Carvery wasn't active enough on the ground.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Carvery takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Carvery's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Walls blocks a head kick by Carvery.

enabling Walls to counter with a crisp jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Walls looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Walls is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Carvery moves into range and clinches up with Walls.

Daniel Carvery showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Carvery clinches up with Walls and pushes him back against the cage.

Carvery manages to pull guard.

Carvery has his foot on Walls's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Walls works his way back into a safe position though.

Carvery has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Walls has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Walls has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Carvery avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Carvery has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Walls uses from the top position.

Carvery escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walls gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Walls trying to control but Carvery is working from the bottom.

Carvery manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Walls manages to get himself to full guard.
Carvery has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Walls wants to sweep but no luck.
Carvery wants to pass the guard but Walls is keeping the position.

Walls is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Carvery advances position into side control!
Walls is not content to let Carvery control the position.
Walls is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Carvery is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Walls is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Carvery is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Walls to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Walls shrugs it off.
Carvery throws some wild stikes that Walls manages to avoid easily.
Walls tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Carvery stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Carvery looks to land a body kick but Walls moved away.

Carvery clinches up with Walls and pushes him back against the cage.
Carvery with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Walls is looking to sweep but instead, Carvery has passed into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Daniel Carvery comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Carvery has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
