PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Castiel Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Breneman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Angel might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Carry on my wayward son. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Castiel Angel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Breneman!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Angel drives through with a takedown into guard.
Angel trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Angel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Breneman is adopting a defensive guard.
Angel missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Breneman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Angel tries to free his leg and advance position but Breneman is retaining full guard.
Angel trying to control but Breneman is working from the bottom.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Angel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Breneman moves away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Angel lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Breneman throws a looping overhand right but Angel ducks down to avoid it.
Angel lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Angel fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
A telegraphed right hand from Angel misses the target.
Angel tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Breneman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Angel's guard now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Breneman postures up.
Breneman in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Angel controls Breneman momentarily but Breneman frees himself.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Castiel Angel.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Breneman enables Angel to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Breneman manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Breneman is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Angel with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Angel has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Angel is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Breneman is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Breneman lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Angel!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Angel avoids a series of strikes thrown by Breneman.
Breneman looking to control but Angel is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

It looks like Castiel Angel has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Breneman wants to control the pace but Angel is squirming around nicely.
Angel is wriggling around trying to escape.
Breneman content just to control the position here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Breneman is landing with some decent strikes but Angel is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Adam Breneman will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Angel shoots for a double leg takedown but Breneman sprawls well. He's pushed Angel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Angel cracks Breneman with a good jab.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Breneman, as that shot connected.
Angel shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Breneman defends it nicely.
Nice jab there from Breneman.


Angel is rocked!
Breneman lands a right hook to the body.
Oh Angel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Breneman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Angel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Breneman advances to full mount.
Breneman loads up with a big shot that hurts Angel! He's pulled Breneman in close but Breneman has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Angel survive? More strikes from Breneman and Angel is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Adam Breneman!
A very excited looking Adam Breneman made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
