Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marion May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Jones!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

May instigates a clinch.
May keeps control of Jones as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Jones blocks an elbow strike.

May manages to break the clinch.

May pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
May could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jones tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and May avoids it.

May breaks the clinch.
May gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
May wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance.
May is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.
May tries to clinch up but Jones circles away and keeps his distance.
May tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.
May doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.

Jones fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. May looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

May closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Jones's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Marion May seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
May tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.

May throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

May breaks the clinch.
Jones throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

May tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Jones counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with May, pushing him back against the cage.

Jones is fighting off a takedown attempt but May is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jones to the mat. Jones regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones wants to stand and escape but May is having none of it.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
May postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
May connects with a couple of short punches.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Marion May will probably get the nod.

Johnny Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marion May.
I think May has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
