Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Eugenio Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, David Hammerson!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hammerson moves away.
Day moves away from the strike by Hammerson.

Hammerson pushes Day up against the cage in a clinch.
Hammerson is trying to break free.
Hammerson tries to break free but Day pushes him back against the cage.
Day could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Day is working for takedown but Hammerson is calmly controlling the position for now.
Day looking for a takedown.

Hammerson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Hammerson feints and as Day raises his hands in defense, Hammerson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Hammerson gets to his feet - Day follows without any prompting.
Day closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hammerson circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eugenio Day. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hammerson drives through and clinches with Day against the cage.

Hammerson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Day has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hammerson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Day throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hammerson was covering up waiting for the punch and Day finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hammerson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Day postures up.
Hammerson wants to hit a switch here but Day passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hammerson there!
Hammerson regains half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Day lands a nice short elbow.
Hammerson wants to get back to full guard but Day has mounted him!

Hammerson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hammerson is trying to push Day away but Day has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hammerson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Day clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Day tries to roll but Hammerson sticks to his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hammerson wants to sweep here but Day controlling him for the moment.
Hammerson wants to control the position but Day says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Hammerson trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Day manages to pass to mount!

Hammerson tries to hold on but Day postures up.
David Hammerson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hammerson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Day haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Day has a closed guard, preventing Hammerson from standing up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Hammerson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Day escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hammerson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hammerson wants to get up but he can't break Day's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hammerson cracks Day with a solid left hand.
Hammerson stands up over Day, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
