Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yoshito Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wayde West!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by West.
West has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
West misses with a right hand
and Silva counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says West as he avoids it easily.
A slapping leg kick lands for West.
A solid body kick from West.
West throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Silva's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva gets tackled into the cage by West. West maintains the clinch.
Silva jumps guard but West stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
West stalling in the clinch.
West pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Silva.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yoshito Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
West throws a leg kick which misses Silva's front leg but catches the back leg as Silva tries to avoid it.
Silva stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from West.
Wayde West seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from West as Silva shoots in.
Silva is breathing heavily.
West lands a nice looking body kick.
Silva steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from West. That one must have hurt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
West throws a monster overhand right that drops Silva! West follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wayde West!
