Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Franklin Xavier!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xavier cracks Merritt with a right hand to the side of the head.
It looks like Milton Merritt has been cut.
Xavier tries to clinch
and Merritt counters with a good low kick that Xavier was not able to check.
Xavier has closed the distance and engaged Merritt in a clinch.
Xavier pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Franklin Xavier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Xavier moves into the clinch successfully.
Merritt really is a fat lump.
Merritt breaks the clinch.
Xavier doesn't manage to clinch there - Merritt circles away.
Merritt circles away from the clinch attempt.
Merritt tries to keep at a distance but Xavier has taken the fight into the clinch.
Merritt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Merritt ducks straight into an uppercut from Xavier and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Merritt manages to regain guard straight away.
Merritt is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Merritt is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Xavier is aware though and is defending well.
Xavier would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Xavier stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Xavier tries to close the distance and clinch but Merritt swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Xavier clinches.
Merritt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Xavier forces Merritt back against the cage and clinches.
Xavier's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
It's a brutal combination of punches from Xavier! Merritt is backing up but he can't get away as Xavier lands with one final shot to the jaw that drops Merritt and ends the fight. Great knockout.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Franklin Xavier!
