Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kam Ba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santiago Riasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kam Ba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Santiago Riasco!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Columbo Gatti and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ba fails with the takedown

and Riasco counters with a single leg into guard. Ba didn't expect that.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Riasco sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Riasco prevents Ba from getting back to his feet.
Riasco stays in close to Ba's body and controls the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Santiago Riasco hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Riasco shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Riasco showed some decent athleticism there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ba pushes Riasco off looking to stand but Riasco dives back in and keeps control.
Riasco frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Riasco looking to control and managing it successfully.

Riasco pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Ba is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Riasco sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Riasco won't let Ba get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Riasco takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
You get the feeling that Ba really doesn't like being in this position too much.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Riasco with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Riasco sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Santiago Riasco wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ba gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Riasco counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Riasco.
Ba is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Riasco is controlling him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Riasco controlling from the top position.
Riasco stands and throws Ba's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Ba stops Riasco from passing to mount.
Ba really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Riasco working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Ba seems a little lost for a moment, as Riasco dominates the positioning.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ba is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Riasco has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Ba is being controlled here.
Let's hope that Riasco has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Riasco tries to advance to mount but can't.
You can see the frustration on Ba's face as Riasco controls the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Santiago Riasco hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Riasco throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ba was covering up waiting for the punch and Riasco finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Riasco is stalling in the full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Santiago Riasco dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Ba misses with a takedown attempt

and Riasco counters with a single leg into guard. Ba didn't expect that.
Riasco prevents Ba from getting back to his feet.
Riasco stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ba swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ba is looking to stand up but Riasco isn't so interested in that idea.
Riasco is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Santiago Riasco hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Ba with a poor takedown

and Riasco counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ba won't be happy with that.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ba is trying to escape the position but Riasco is controlling the position.
Santiago Riasco has got the better of the ground game so far.

Riasco has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Ba!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ba has given up his back. Will we see Riasco going for some submissions?

Ba is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Riasco gets his way!
What can Ba do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Riasco has managed to slip his arm under Ba's chin. This could be all over... yep, Ba is tapping out! Submission win for Riasco.
