PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Amir Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Don't Fake the Funk by Prince Charles. Charles has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. On his way into the cage it seems that Amir Khan has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Amir Khan seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Charles.
Charles looks winded!

Khan tries to sprawl but Charles drives through with a takedown into half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Khan kicks Charles off and gets back to his feet.
Charles fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Charles needs to keep his hands up - Khan had a free shot at his head there.
A looping hook to the body misses from Khan. Charles does a little dance to reset his feet.

A jab from Khan does it's job there.
Khan scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Charles has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Charles throws a nice looking combination but Khan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Charles is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Khan swings for the body but Charles moves out of range.
Khan thows a body shot but no joy.
Charles misses with a left hand

and Khan counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

A short body shot lands from Khan as the two fighters clinch.

Charles blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Khan lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Charles or not.
Charles is still on wobbly legs! Can Khan finish him?

Khan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Khan dips a shoulder and cracks Charles with a mighty uppercut! Charles falls back against the cage and Khan unloads with a barrage of strikes! Charles is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Khan screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
