Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hashiro Katuake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshida Tanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoshida Tanaka has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Hashiro Katuake's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hashiro Katuake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshida Tanaka!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Katuake is defended easily by Tanaka.
Katuake tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tanaka paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tanaka throws a sloppy head kick and Katuake moves out of range easily.

Katuake moves into range and clinches up with Tanaka.
A nice right hand lands inside from Tanaka.

Tanaka gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Katuake wants to get back to full guard.

Tanaka is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Katuake has managed to free his arm - good work.
Katuake is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Katuake avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Tanaka.
Katuake is trying to control but can't.

Katuake looking for submissions off his back.
Katuake trying to control here.
Tanaka trying to mount his opponent but Katuake defends it.

Tanaka is looking for a kimura but Katuake is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Tanaka to get the leverage.

Katuake wants to get back to his feet.
Katuake is trying to get back to full guard.
Tanaka passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Katuake!

Tanaka cracks Katuake with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Katuake is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Tanaka lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Katuake is trying to escape the mount.

Katuake wants to sweep but Tanaka has passed to side control!

Tanaka avoids the strikes from the bottom by Katuake.

Tanaka goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Katuake has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tanaka but great work by Katuake.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Katuake wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tanaka keeps working.
You can see the frustration on Tanaka's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tanaka looking for a sweep but Katuake has passed into full mount! Oh no!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yoshida Tanaka dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Katuake shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hashiro Katuake is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Katuake tries to pull guard but Tanaka won't allow it.

Tanaka turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We've been informed that Tanaka has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Tanaka decides to stand back up. Tanaka steps back and let's Katuake get back to his feet.
Tanaka tries to close the distance and clinch but Katuake swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Katuake.

Katuake throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tanaka works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Tanaka had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Katuake defends it easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tanaka misses with a takedown attempt - Katuake sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Tanaka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Tanaka is not content to let Katuake control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Katuake wants to control but Tanaka is keeping him busy.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Katuake cracks Tanaka with a big right hand but Tanaka just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Tanaka manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Katuake moves nicely into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Katuake lands a few punches from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hashiro Katuake dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Katuake has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tanaka uses from the top position.

Tanaka avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Katuake makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Katuake scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Tanaka shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Katuake's guard.

Katuake is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tanaka tries to free his leg and advance position but Katuake is retaining full guard.
Yoshida Tanaka has got the better of the ground game so far.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Yoshida Tanaka hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Yoshida Tanaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tanaka shoots for a takedown but Katuake saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Yoshida Tanaka comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Tanaka has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
