The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsuhita circles away from the clinch attempt.
Smit throws a head kick that Matsuhita semi-blocks.
Smit connects with a high kick.
Smit throws a sloppy head kick and Matsuhita moves out of range easily.
Matsuhita blocks a head kick by Smit.
Matsuhita tries to bum rush Smit with a series of wild strikes but Smit uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
The fight stays on the outside here - Smit looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Smit misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smit wants to clinch
and Matsuhita counters with a crisp right hand that drops Smit! Matsuhita lets Smit back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Smit is rocked!
It looks like Mats Sundin Smit has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Matsuhita throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Matsuhita misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Smit.
Smit doesn't manage to clinch there - Matsuhita circles away.

Smit tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Smit fails in his attempt to clinch.
Matsuhita drops Smit with a naaaaasty hook - Smit is in real trouble here! Matsuhita dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
