Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Spinks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kalani Kapena!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kapena swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Spinks displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kapena throws out the jab.
Spinks shoots in and drives through. Kapena sprawls well.
Kapena jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Kapena throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Spinks uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kapena.
Kapena's corner calls for a 1-2. Kapena obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Nice defenses there by Spinks.
Kapena misses with a straight right.

Spinks takes the fight into the clinch.
Kapena is trying to force a seperation but Spinks has the dominant position.
Kapena wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Spinks is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kapena to keep the fight standing.
Spinks scores with a shoulder strike.
Spinks stalling.

Kapena breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kalani Kapena seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Spinks shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kapena defends it nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Spinks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kapena ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spinks moves away.
Spinks slips a jab and a cross from Kapena.
Kapena blocks a head kick by Spinks.
Kapena is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Spinks.
Kapena waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Spinks.
Spinks takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Andrew Spinks has been cut.
Kapena throws a lazy right hand but Spinks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kapena gets in close and tags Spinks with a short punch that almost sends Spinks to the mat! Oh Spinks is in big trouble! He turns his back on Kapena, trying to create some distance but Kapena rushes him, striking wildly and Spinks goes down! The referee tackles Kapena into the cage to end the fight! Kapena is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kalani Kapena!
