Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Scott Gouken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Balan Syed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Syed is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Undead. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of New York, Scott Gouken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Balan Syed!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gouken decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Syed avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gouken.
Gouken frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Syed tries to reverse the position but Gouken maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gouken looking to control but Syed is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Syed wants to hold on but Gouken pushes him away.
Gouken raining down hammerfists from mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gouken looking to ground and pound but Syed is blocking nicely.
Gouken unloads with some shots from mount but Syed bucks and avoids them well.

Gouken throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Syed because Gouken loaded up on that one.

Gouken thows a huge punch but Syed dodges it nicely.
Syed is refusing to be controlled, as Gouken sits in half guard.
Gouken is really struggling to control Syed but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Syed tries to get to full guard but Gouken has control of the leg.

Gouken looking to sit in guard and control but Syed gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Syed working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Gouken is pulling down on Syed's head to control his posture.
Syed wants to pass the guard but Gouken is keeping the position.
Syed wants to control from the top but Gouken keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Scott Gouken wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Gouken shoots in for a takedown but Syed shows good takedown defense.
Gouken shoots in and drives through. Syed sprawls well.
Syed tries a head kick but it misses.
Syed scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Syed lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Gouken circles away quickly and effectively.
Syed throws a hook but Gouken blocks it.
Gouken ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Syed moves away.

Syed feints and then cracks Gouken's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Gouken down.
Gouken takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Gouken throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Syed blocks a jab.
Gouken tries to land a front kick but Syed steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Syed fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Syed shoots in and gets a takedown into Gouken's guard.
Syed advances to half guard.
Syed is trying to control. Gouken wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gouken looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Gouken looks like he's trying to stand up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Syed is looking to advance position but Gouken won't allow it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Balan Syed will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Syed tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Syed changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gouken tries to avoid it but Syed manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gouken to the ground. Gouken escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gouken dives in for a single leg takedown but Syed sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Syed breaks the clinch.
Gouken moves in looking to clinch but Syed pushes him off.
A punch lands to the side of Gouken 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Syed jabs at Gouken's body.
Syed misses with a lunging right hand
and Gouken counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Balan Syed has been cut.
Syed throws a head kick but Gouken moves out of range.
Gouken takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Syed tests Gouken's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Syed displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
It looks like Scott Gouken has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Syed slaps away a takedown attempt from Gouken, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Syed jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Syed scores with a three punch combo!
Syed fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gouken manages to avoid it.
Gouken throws a jab but it's blocked by Syed.
Syed avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Syed slips under a jab.
Balan Syed seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Syed shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gouken as he avoids it easily.
Syed scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gouken in his tracks.
Gouken bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Syed lands a really nice looking cross but Gouken seems unphased.
Gouken shoots in looking for a takedown but Syed manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gouken's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Gouken. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Syed scores with a nice head shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Syed lands a head kick. Gouken smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Gouken is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Syed.

Gouken throws a shot from downtown. Syed moves away and avoids it.
Syed pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Syed rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Gouken counters with a nice body shot.
Gouken lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gouken.
Gouken bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Syed is breathing heavily.
Syed wants to control but Gouken postures up.
Gouken is looking to take a break and control but Syed is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Syed is trying to control Gouken's posture but Gouken avoids it.
Syed is trying to escape the position but Gouken is controlling the position.
Gouken throws an elbow but Syed slips to the side and avoids it well.
Gouken misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gouken decides to stand back up.
Gouken looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Syed has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Gouken finds it's way round the side to connect with Syed's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gouken misses with an uppercut
and Syed counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Syed falls off balance throwing a combination
and Gouken connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Syed is rocked!
Gouken finds Syed's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Syed flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Gouken lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Syed will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Scott Gouken!
