Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Peter Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Schilling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schilling is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Roy Jones - Can't be touched. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Jacobs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Schilling!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schilling connects with a body shot.
Schilling avoids a kick to the body.
Schilling lands a slapping body shot.
Jacobs throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Schilling dips to his left and cracks Jacobs with an uppercut!
Schilling pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Schilling throws a big shot that misses.
Peter Jacobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schilling takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Jacobs lands a jab to the nose.

Schilling darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Jacobs connects with a single shot there.
Schilling goes for a double leg but Jacobs avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Jacobs continues to drive forward.
Schilling swings wildly with an uppercut but Jacobs uses good head movement to avoid it.
Schilling throws a punch but it's blocked by Jacobs.
Schilling fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Jacobs wants to get back to striking at distance but Schilling won't allow it.

Jacobs stops a takedown attempt from Schilling.

We've been hearing reports that Jacobs has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Peter Jacobs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Schilling.

Schilling tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jacobs was well out of range. Poor timing from Schilling.

Jacobs misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Jacobs lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Schilling bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

The fight stays on the outside here - Jacobs looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Jacobs throws a body punch but Schilling moves out of range.

Peter Jacobs is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Schilling shoots in for a takedown but Jacobs shows good takedown defense.
Schilling's coach down at Valhalla Training Grounds was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Schilling's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Schilling postures up in Jacobs's guard and throws a big left but Jacobs blocks it.

Schilling thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Schilling got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jacobs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schilling has managed to get both his arms back between Jacobs's legs - danger averted.

Jacobs wants to stand and escape but Schilling is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schilling drops back looking for a leg! Jacobs is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jacobs manages to kick Schilling off! Schilling jumps back into Jacobs's guard.
Jacobs is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Schilling is controlling him.
Jacobs looking for a sweep. Not yet Jacobs, not yet.
Jacobs keeping moving, preventing Schilling from controlling successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Schilling wants to pass the guard but Jacobs is keeping the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Schilling trying to control the position from guard on top but Jacobs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jacobs wants to stand but Schilling is controlling the position.
Jacobs is trying to control the position but Schilling postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joe Schilling will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Schilling has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Schilling winds up and cracks Jacobs with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Schilling is looking for a kimura here.

Jacobs tries to kick Schilling off but Schilling keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Schilling looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Schilling is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Schilling is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jacobs pushes Schilling off but Schilling dives into side control.
Jacobs is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Schilling off and has taken his back!

Jacobs is looking to stand up but Schilling won't let him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Schilling has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jacobs can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Schilling manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Schilling swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jacobs is now in Schilling's guard. A big mistake from Schilling there, giving up the dominant position!
Jacobs is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Schilling is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jacobs defends well.
Jacobs wants to get up but he can't break Schilling's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Schilling has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jacobs should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Schilling has tightened it up now! Jacobs should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

A relieved looking Joe Schilling thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
