Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Juan Tamad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Poulter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tamad comes into the arena with The Joker blaring out of the sound system. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Juan Tamad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 31 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Paul Poulter!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poulter looks to score with a jab to the body but Tamad is just out of range.
We've been informed that Poulter has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Poulter moves into the clinch.
Tamad misses with a short punch on the inside.

Tamad's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Poulter throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
An inside leg kick from Tamad misses.
Tamad is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Poulter.
Tamad fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Poulter manages to avoid it.
Tamad misses with a looping right.
Poulter cracks the inside of Tamad's front leg.
Tamad scores with a hook to the body. Poulter takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Poulter takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Poulter.
Poulter misses with a head kick.
Poulter moves out of range as Tamad strikes.

Tamad fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Poulter.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters circling - Tamad throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Tamad ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Poulter moves away.
Tamad looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Poulter uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tamad.
Poulter blocks a jab.
Poulter takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Tamad ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Poulter moves away.
Poulter throws a sloppy head kick and Tamad moves out of range easily.
Poulter avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Tamad thows a body shot but no joy.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Tamad, as that shot connected.
A bone on bone clash there as Poulter blocks the leg kick.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Poulter.
Poulter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Poulter tries to land a front kick but Tamad steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A telegraphed right hand from Tamad misses the target.
Poulter takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Tamad thows a body shot but no joy.
Poulter lands a front kick.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Tamad buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Tamad scores with a punch to the head.
Poulter throws a sloppy head kick and Tamad moves out of range easily.
A swing and a miss from Tamad.
Poulter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Poulter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tamad.
Tamad takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like Juan Tamad has been cut.

Tamad shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Tamad was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Tamad is looking to pass Poulter's guard but actually Poulter recovers to full guard.

Tamad wants to control from the top but Poulter keeps moving.

Tamad postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Poulter looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Tamad loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tamad lands a couple of elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tamad throwing strikes from guard but Poulter blocks nicely.
Tamad is looking to work some ground and pound but Poulter has wrist control.

Poulter keeping moving, preventing Tamad from controlling successfully.

Poulter is looking for a triangle here but Tamad uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Tamad has knee on belly momentarily but Poulter bucks him off and regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tamad takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Tamad throws a shot from downtown. Poulter moves away and avoids it.
Poulter moves out of range of the strikes.

Tamad attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Tamad takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Poulter slaps away a takedown attempt from Tamad, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tamad throws a front kick aimed at Poulter's knee but Poulter avoids it well.
Poulter fakes the leg kick and cracks Tamad in the body.
Tamad scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Poulter takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Poulter connects with an inside leg kick.

Poulter has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tamad.

Tamad takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Tamad works Poulter's body with a nice hook.
Tamad cracks Poulter with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tamad throws a head kick that misses
and Poulter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Poulter connects with a body shot.
Poulter misses with a head kick.
Juan Tamad is winning the standup battle so far.
Tamad lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Tamad moves out of range of the leg kick from Poulter.

Tamad fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Poulter on the side of the head.
Tamad on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Tamad dodges the punch combination from Poulter.
Tamad throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Poulter tries to land a front kick but Tamad steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
A looping hook to the body misses from Poulter. Tamad does a little dance to reset his feet.
Poulter moves out of range as Tamad strikes.
Tamad feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Poulter's calf.

and Tamad counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Tamad not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Poulter is in trouble now - Tamad has advanced to mount!

Tamad postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Poulter looks a forlorn figure.

Tamad looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Poulter covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
