Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wess Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brown comes to the cage accompanied by Earth Angel. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wess Cross!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Cross wants to clinch

and Brown counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Brown turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Brown manages to end up in side control.
Cross is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Brown is controlling him well.
Brown trying to control the action but Cross is working from the bottom.
Cross can't do much from the bottom here.
Cross is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Cross gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown content to control rather than advance.
Cross is trying to control but Brown manages to pass to mount!

Cross tries to reverse the position but Brown maintains control.
Brown knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cross on the ground.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Brown cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Brown controlling the pace for now.
Cross can't escape the position.

Brown takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Brown seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cross for as long as he can get away with.
Cross regains half guard.

Cross is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brown pulls his head out easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Wess Cross will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Cross is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Brown gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Cross tries to break the clinch but Brown is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cross is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Brown is trying to trip Cross. He has hold of a leg but Cross is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Brown persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Brown avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cross escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brown gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Cross is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Cross is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Brown is aware though and is defending well.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Brown avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Brown is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tony Brown just wasn't active enough.
Cross tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Brown was well out of range. Poor timing from Cross.

Brown pushes Cross up against the cage in a clinch.
Cross is pressed up against the cage. Brown has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cross down to the mat. Cross avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Cross throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Brown doesn't manage to clinch there - Cross circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cross.
Brown throws a sloppy head kick and Cross moves out of range easily.
Cross tries to clinch up but Brown circles away and keeps his distance.

Cross gets tackled into the cage by Brown. Brown maintains the clinch.

Cross jumps guard and drags Brown to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brown content to stall in guard here.

Cross is looking for a triangle but Brown pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wess Cross showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!



Brown fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cross, pushing him back against the cage.
Cross tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cross has had enough of the clinch but Brown keeps him there for the moment.

Brown is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Cross can't fight it off and eventually Brown manages to take the fight to the floor. Cross looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Cross had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brown defends it easily.

Brown is sitting in close to Cross's body. Cross has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Brown is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Brown is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Cross.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Wess Cross!
In defeat, Tony Brown stepped up to the mic, saying 'So what!'.
