PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gokhan Saki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lock Bresner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lock Bresner told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gokhan Saki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lock Bresner!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saki takes the fight into the clinch.
Bresner tries to score a body lock takedown but Saki shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Saki is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bresner is defending well for now.
Bresner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bresner is working Saki over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Saki pushes Bresner off looking to stand but Bresner dives back in and keeps control.
Bresner passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Saki!
Saki really wants to buck Bresner off and get back to his feet.
Bresner is landing with some decent strikes but Saki is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Lock Bresner has got the better of the ground game so far.

Bresner has control of Saki's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Saki regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Bresner has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Saki's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Bresner looking to isolate an arm here. Saki doesn't see it coming and as Bresner extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Bresner!
