The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Inferno showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Payne.
Inferno keeps the fight on the outside.
Payne is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Inferno comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Inferno cracks Payne with an open hand slap.
Inferno stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Inferno swats away the attempt to clinch by Payne.
Payne avoids the body shot from Inferno.
Inferno fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Payne looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Dantes Inferno seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fighters circling - Inferno throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Payne fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Inferno misses with a series of wild punches.

Nice uppercut there from Inferno.
Inferno connects with the punch.
Payne misses with a two punch combination.
A shot to the liver by Inferno. Beautiful body shot.
Inferno scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Payne doesn't seem bothered though.
Inferno swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Inferno lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Payne takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Payne takes one on the chin but seems OK.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Inferno moves into range and clinches up with Payne.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Inferno.
Payne is trying to pull guard but Inferno has him pressed against the cage.
Payne is trying to stall.
Inferno scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Inferno lands a hook to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Inferno lands a body shot.
Payne could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Payne manages to pull guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Payne wants to stand up but Inferno is controlling him.

Inferno wants to stand but Payne is controlling his posture from full guard.
Payne is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Vince Payne wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Payne has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Vince Payne has been cut.
Inferno scores with a shot to the body.
We've been informed that Inferno has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Payne walks into a left hand.
Payne has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Inferno finds it's way round the side to connect with Payne's head.
Inferno throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Inferno lands a body shot.
Payne is breathing heavily.
Payne swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Payne pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Inferno cracks Payne with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Inferno lands with a cross.
Payne takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dantes Inferno dominated that round.

Payne throws a body punch but Inferno moves out of range.
Payne on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Inferno closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Payne! Inferno dives in looking to finish! Payne is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
