The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Morgan looks to clinch
and Anderson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Morgan closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Anderson quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Anderson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Anderson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Anderson is looking to stand up but Morgan isn't so interested in that idea.

It looks like Anderson might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jorden Anderson was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Anderson connects with a solid leg kick.
Morgan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morgan wants it to stay on the feet.
Anderson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Morgan avoids it really well and circles away.

Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch but Morgan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Anderson slaps away a takedown attempt from Morgan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Anderson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Morgan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Anderson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Morgan is in Anderson's guard.

Morgan is looking to control Anderson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Morgan avoid being mounted?

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Morgan counters with a three punch combo that has Anderson backing up. Anderson nods at Morgan to acknowledge the strikes.

Anderson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Morgan circles away.

Anderson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Morgan has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Morgan is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Anderson gets his way!

I really don't envy Morgan right now.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Justin Morgan.
I think Morgan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
