The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hartman throws a body punch but McCloud moves out of range.

McCloud is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hartman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

McCloud wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hartman, who protects the arm well.

Hartman is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Hartman seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

McCloud's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

McCloud looks to land a body kick but Hartman moved away.

and McCloud counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Hartman is lucky that one didn't land flush.

McCloud throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hartman was covering up waiting for the punch and McCloud finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McCloud is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Clayton McCloud was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Hartman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. McCloud defends it nicely.

McCloud throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hartman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McCloud is in Hartman's guard.

McCloud has gone for a leg lock! Hartman slips out almost immediately though and dives into McCloud's guard.

Hartman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hartman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McCloud, up you get!
McCloud lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hartman will feel that in the morning.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hartman has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McCloud avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

McCloud jumps guard and drags Hartman to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Hartman stands up over McCloud, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Well McCloud has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
