Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Very Magnum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Slate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Very Magnum had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 186.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. This should be a great matchup!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magnum closes the distance looking to clinch

and Slate counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Slate.
Magnum might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Magnum is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Magnum is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Magnum is trying to control the position but Slate postures up.

Slate avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Slate really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Magnum. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slate works over Magnum with some ground and pound from guard.

Slate wants to stand and escape but instead Magnum has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Slate is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Magnum is controlling him.
Slate is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Slate is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Magnum presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Magnum wants to take the fight to the mat but Slate manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Slate jumps guard but Magnum stands there with Slate around his waist. Slate gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Magnum is trying to break free.
Magnum is trying to pull guard but Slate has him pressed against the cage.

Slate pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Magnum misses with a takedown attempt

and Slate counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Very Magnum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Magnum is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Slate rolls with it to try and escape but Magnum cranks on the arm and Slate is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
