Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Titus Cochran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sean Sherk has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Titus Cochran's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Titus Cochran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sean Sherk!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sherk has taken the fight to the clinch.

Cochran pulls guard successfully.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sherk looking to sit in guard and control but Cochran gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Cochran being controlled here momentarily.
Sherk is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Cochran will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cochran trying to control but Sherk is working from the bottom.
Sherk trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Sherk throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Sherk throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Sherk is trying to control the position but Cochran postures up.
Cochran tries to stand but Sherk is controlling from the bottom.
Cochran trying to control but Sherk is working from the bottom.
Sherk pulls Cochran in close to his closed guard and prevents Cochran from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Titus Cochran.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sherk looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sherk tries to clinch up but Cochran circles away and keeps his distance.
Sherk scores with a decent looking hook.

Sherk closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cochran's guard.
Sherk passes into half guard.
Sherk trying to control from half guard but Cochran is working away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sherk seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Sherk seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sherk trying to control the action but Cochran is working from the bottom.
Sherk stops Cochran from getting back to his feet.
Cochran really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sean Sherk was stalling too much, according to the referee.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cochran looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Cochran works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Sherk tries for a takedown but Cochran sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

and Cochran counters with a right hand to the body.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sherk misses with a takedown attempt - Cochran sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Titus Cochran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Sherk.
Sherk takes a swing at Cochran's ribcage but misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Sherk feints and as Cochran raises his hands in defense, Sherk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Sherk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Sherk trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Cochran wants to stand up but Sherk is controlling him.
Sherk working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Cochran looking for a sweep. Not yet Cochran, not yet.
Sherk slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Sean Sherk has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Cochran tries to sprawl but Sherk drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Cochran keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sherk is trying to control. Cochran wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sherk might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cochran haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Cochran gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sherk throws a strike but Cochran rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Sherk throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Cochran is looking to stand up but Sherk won't let him.
Cochran prevents Sherk from getting back to his feet.

Sherk has his foot on Cochran's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cochran works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sherk looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Titus Cochran just wasn't active enough.
Sherk shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Sherk throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cochran was covering up waiting for the punch and Sherk finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cochran is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sean Sherk showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Cochran's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Sherk shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cochran but Cochran pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Sherk fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Cochran to the ground. Sherk is now in Cochran's guard.

Cochran tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sherk slips nicely into half guard.

Sherk is looking to advance position but Cochran won't allow it.
Sherk seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Cochran wants to control but Sherk is keeping busy.
Cochran gets back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sherk pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cochran is keeping the position for now.
Cochran trying to keep a closed guard but Sherk is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Titus Cochran wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Sherk clinches up with Cochran and pushes him back against the cage.
Sherk with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Cochran tries to pull guard but Sherk won't allow it.

Cochran stalling the fight.
Cochran jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sherk walks away with a smile on his face. Cochran gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Sherk has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cochran is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sherk is keeping busy.

Cochran has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sherk uses from the top position.
Sherk content to stall in guard here.

Sherk wants to control from the top but Cochran keeps moving.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Sean Sherk hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Cochran slips a straight right by Sherk.
Cochran stuffs the takedown attempt from Sherk. Sherk gets slowly back to his feet.
Sherk doesn't manage to clinch there - Cochran circles away.
Titus Cochran has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sean Sherk is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Sherk moves into range and clinches up with Cochran.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sean Sherk comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sherk has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
