Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Orville Ruiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jordan Tyson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Orville Ruiz's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ruiz is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Tyson's half guard.
Tyson is looking to escape.

Tyson tries to kick Ruiz off but Ruiz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Ruiz stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Ruiz avoids the head kick by Tyson.
Ruiz shoots for a takedown but Tyson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Tyson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ruiz circles away quickly and effectively.
Ruiz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tyson throws a right hand that Ruiz ducks under and follows up with a left that Ruiz also avoids with ease.
Tyson tries a head kick but it misses.
Ruiz shoots in looking for a takedown but Tyson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ruiz's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Orville Ruiz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tyson throws a right hand that Ruiz ducks under and follows up with a left that Ruiz also avoids with ease.
Ruiz shoots in and drives through. Tyson sprawls well.

Tyson is trying to push Ruiz away but Ruiz has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Ruiz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ruiz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ruiz checks a leg kick.
Tyson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ruiz is breathing heavily.
Tyson throws a head kick but Ruiz moves out of range.
Ruiz has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Orville Ruiz has been cut.
Tyson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
No joy there for Tyson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Ruiz decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Ruiz dives in and grabs Tyson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Tyson pushes down on Ruiz's head and hops out.
Tyson throws a nice looking combination but Ruiz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Tyson throws a head kick that misses.
Tyson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ruiz throws a half hearted mid kick.

Tyson lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Tyson.
Nice takedown defense from Tyson. No joy for Ruiz on that attempt.
Tyson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Tyson lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Tyson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Tyson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ruiz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tyson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ruiz is in Tyson's guard.
Ruiz is looking to stand up but Tyson won't let him.
Ruiz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Tyson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jordan Tyson will probably get the nod.
