Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Estevan Derozan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruben Gerolf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Estevan Derozan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerolf throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Derozan ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Derozan no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Derozan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gerolf gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Derozan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gerolf manages to get himself to full guard.
Gerolf has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Derozan drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gerolf manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Derozan has Gerolf in his guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close round but Ruben Gerolf will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Derozan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gerolf was covering up waiting for the punch and Derozan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
